” Jam-It-All!”
“Jam Give-Away”
Leave a comment today telling me your favorite jam and I will put you in a drawing to win THREE of my signature Gourmet Dessert jams! Chocolate covered Cherry Cordial, Raspberry Truffle and Chocolate-Dipped-Strawberry! Smear them on chocolate chip scones, melt them and pour them over ice cream, or eat them straight from the jars! So to begin, I contacted a gal last year that has a business called ” Jam-It-All”…I thought it was about the most clever name I had heard for a business like hers..She makes jam, and she uses every kind of fresh fruit she can find to make it! She lives in my neck of the woods and I believe I found her by searching for jam makers in Ithaca. We chatted for a while and I have since lost touch with her, but after tonight’s blog post I think I will contact her again! I flet like ” I jammed -it -all” this summer, so I guess this is an homage to her and her “cute as heck” business! This year I have made about four different kinds of jams already. We have wild blackberries and black raspberries behind my kitchen, so my daughter and I gathered them and I went to work making the best of the early summer’s bounty.
My daughter found this cluster of berries that looked just like a flower!

Maya smacking her lips with excitement for the berries!...her favorite way to eat them is with sugar and cream.
I was lucky enough to have an intern for a short spell. Her name is Demi Fong.
we made an immediate connection and welcomed her into our crazy family! My business is cyclical, and sometimes there just isn’t much to do…there is alway’s cleaning and organizing to do and we did a few days of that…after two grueling day’s of dusting, mopping and organizing, I thought it was high time to play and experiment! She and I made several kinds of jams utilizing those beautiful berries! Blueberry- Raspberry- Strawberry ( or Tri-Berry), Blueberry, and Cherry-Blackberry…plus we “put up” a few jars of bing cherries which are macerating in an almond syrup…great for pie baking!
Yesterday I purchased a half peck of peaches from a local fruit stand called Dedrick’s.
Tomorrow, I am making Peach Pies, Peach Jam and Peach and Almond Toffee Jam ( peach jam with chunks of almond butter toffee suspended inside).
(Recipe will be posted tomorrow)
Tomorrow is:
miniature peach crisps…perfect for a doll picnic!

Those jams look so beautiful! Isn’t it something how lovely homemade jam is? My favorite is strawberry. I hope to find the time to learn how to make some someday!
