Ever since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated with Vintage cakes, pies and baked goodies ( see my bio.)  ya know, the ones in all of the vintage baking books. Since this was the first miniature cake I created, and what started the wheels turning for this blog, I thought I would begin with these adorable mini vintage cakes.  About three years ago I created them as a gift for my blog friend Jenny of Everyday is a Holiday”.  I just ADORE her paintings of vintage cakes that she creates with her sidekick Aaron, and so it was both an homage to her and a Birthday gift.  She has been asking me for three years when she could post the picture she took of the cakes that I sent her, so check her blog when this blog goes live!! Have fun creating these little gems…you will be all the rage when you present them to a friend, a niece or your young daughter.  They make tea-time with Dollies and Teddy Bears Extra SWELL! My daughter just LOVES to enjoy them with her American Girl Dolls!

Since this is a 52 week blog cookbook, this is number one!  Check back next week to see what we are making next! I will be posting every Friday so that you have the weekend to create these little treats! In addition, you can check “ Marion’s recipe box” as an archive for all of the recipes and packaging ideas! At the end of the 52 weeks I will be publishing a collectible cookbook, which you will be able to purchase then. Happy Vintage baking!
